Cowboys Earn Wire-To-Wire Win Over The Netherlands In Euro Tour

ROME â€" Michael Weathers led Oklahoma State with 10 points and five rebounds as the Cowboys posted a wire-to-wire win over the Netherlands National Team reserves, 61-49, at the Pala Fonte Arena.
The Cowboys jumped out to an 8-0 lead on the strength of a Cameron McGriff 3-pointer and never looked back in the second game of their European tour.
Kentrevious Jones, Thomas Dziagwa and Mike Cunningham all poured in eight points, while Cameron McGriff and Isaac Likekele each posted five points and five rebounds. In all, seven OSU players scored at least five points.
The Cowboys held off every charge that the Orange Lions could mount, including a third quarter run that Duncan Demuth ended with a buzzer-beating tip-in that sent the Cowboys into the final frame up, 49-37.
In all, the Cowboys shot 41 percent from the floor and posted 15 assists on their 24 made baskets (24-of-59). OSU knoc ked down seven 3-pointers.
OSU is in the middle of a 10-day European tour that includes trips to Venice, Rome and Athens. Prior to the game on Thursday, the Cowboys toured the Colosseum and visited Trevi Fountain.
The Cowboys will fly to Athens on Friday morning and will face a local all-star team on Saturday at 1 p.m. Central.
